Attendance

At St Mary's Horsforth, we believe that every day counts. Regular attendance and good punctuality enable children to make the most of their learning, build positive friendships, develop confidence and fully participate in all aspects of school life.

We understand that families can sometimes face challenges that affect attendance or arriving at school on time. Our approach is supportive, caring and centred on partnership. We work closely with parents and carers to understand any difficulties and provide guidance, encouragement and practical support where needed.

Being in school every day and arriving on time helps children settle positively into their learning, feel connected to their class and develop good habits that will benefit them throughout their lives. Even a few missed minutes at the start of the day can mean missing important learning, routines and opportunities to connect with friends and teachers.

Together, we can ensure that every child is present, ready to learn and able to flourish each day.
